We are a company that cares…

Actually a company that cares a lot about improving people’s odds behind the wheel, and working with families on ensuring their loved ones have an advantage.  A safe driving advantage.  We want your family members to arrive home safely each and every day.

The six hours of training required for newly permitted or licensed drivers does not provide nearly enough experience to perform one of the most complex and dangerous skills a young person will do:  drive a vehicle on the open road.  Parents wouldn’t let their teen play high school football, or expect them to earn a blackbelt in karate with only six hours of training. So why should a teen be expected to perform skillfully in a far more dangerous arena—streets and highways—with only six hours of training? Driving is about much more than learning the rules of the road and passing a test”

We are not a driving school that just focuses upon passing a test!  We do not issue permits, we do not provide the minimum six hours of training on the road and we do not teach people how to parallel park a car so they can pass a test. Our aim is to create safe driving skills and confidence for lifetime application.

We offer an innovative and challenging program.  It safely challenges a driver’s skills, abilities, knowledge and behaviors.  It is designed especially for new drivers who will learn their strengths and weaknesses, and engage in exercises to improve while having a lot of fun in the process!  All in a safe and positive learning environment.

It’s about using your brain…

We’re not talking about being smart, but about how your teen’s brain responds to the many stimuli they face while driving.  Our scientifically proven program lets teens learn where they will struggle in twelve cognitive areas related to driving.  Better yet, we customize a training program for them to improve their cognitive weak areas and optimize their strengths.

It’s about experiencing risky road challenges in a risk-free way…

How would you like to know how your child responds to changing traffic patterns, perhaps a dog or child running across the street, crowded intersections with short and long lights, bicyclists on the road, pedestrians in parking lots, city driving, rural driving and changing speed conditions?  And how would you like to know how they handle these situations in the rain, fog, snow and at night?  We do all of this and more on our state-of-the art driving simulators.  The simulator curriculum reflects very real situations, teaching teens the consequences of their reactions to each one.

It’s about recognizing personal accountability…

While practicing to drive with an instructor or a parent, teens will be on their best behavior.  But what happens when they’re out on their own?  Of greater concern, what about when they’re out with their friends?  We give them an opportunity to speak candidly with their peers about how they behave on the road, about the choices they make.  With guided facilitation they discover the consequences of their choices.  Requirements of the graduated license process (driving during the day, limited passengers) become personal and meaningful.

It’s about parents being involved…

We also help you become an effective coach while you learn with your teen along the way.  Progress reports after each session are automatically sent to you so you know where to compliment your teens, and where to support them.  We also provide tips so you can constructively coach your teen in conversation and in practice.

There’s more.  Much more.  Please give us a call, stop in and visit, or sign up for one of our open houses on Monday and Wednesday evenings by calling 908-281-3876.

We hope to welcome you into our Driving Center family soon.
